Guwahati: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) releases the names of three candidates today for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Sitting MP and AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal will contest from Dhubri constituency while the party General Secretary Hafiz Rafiqul Islam will contest from Barpeta and Radheshyam Biswas from Karimganj.

The party is also likely to field candidates from Kokrajhar and Guwahati. The party, however, will release the names for five constituencies in the coming two days.

Meanwhile, AIUDF's Dhing MLA Aminul Islam is likely to contest from Koliabor while Karimuddin Barbhuiyan is likely to contest from Silchar.

The party, however, announced earlier that it has an intention to contest from seven constituencies in the Lok Sabha polls. They have now explored the option of fielding candidates from additional two seats.

The party earlier announced that they will contest from Dhubri, Barpeta, Karimganj, Silchar, Nagaon, Kaliabor and Mangaldoi constituencies. And now the party is likely to add to more seats- Guwahati and Kokrajhar.

AIUDF's main target during the campaign of election is the BJP. The party source further informed that they had shortlisted its parliamentary poll candidates from various constituencies.

The poll campaign by the party has preceded the naming of candidates. Party president Badruddin Ajmal has already started the campaign for the party. On Wednesday, he took out a bike rally in Barpeta where he addressed an election rally as well.

Even as the AIUDF has been maintaining that it has no electoral understanding with the Congress and it is going to field seven candidates in the State, the BJP alleges that the Congress and the AIUDF have reached a secret understanding which has been denied by the party saying that the understanding of the party with the Congress is unlikely as Congress has already made clear its intentions to contest from all 14 seats in Assam and they had already announced the names of the candidates for ten constituencies.
