A CORRESPONDENT
SILCHAR: Algapur’s AIUDF MLA Nijam Uddin Chowdhury, accused of rape, on Saturday surrendered before a court in Hailakandi. He however was granted bail. Hailakandi district session court on Friday issued an arrest warrant against the two time MLA from Algapur.
A rape case was filed against Chowdhury in 2018 by a woman. He reportedly failed to appear in the court despite repeated summons.
