GUWAHATI : In a recent development, the State has come up with a new scheme that will provide assistance and motivate all the girl students in Assam. A new scholarship has been introduced by the Director of Higher Education in Assam, called Mobility Grant.
The scholarship scheme will grant an amount of Rs 10,000 every year to all the girl students who are pursuing their Post Graduates Degree. This is applicable for all the females studying in Universities of Assam, Autonomous and other colleges as well.
However, the newly proposed scheme is confined to girls only. The mode of payment decided by the authorities is through DBT mode in their individual bank accounts. The scheme will be available for girls who are regular PG students, may it be from any university or college in Assam.
Additionally, the family income should be less than Rs 5 lakh per annum, for the girl to avail this scholarship scheme. Every girl applying for this program, should have their individual accounts in a a Nationalised Bank. Eligible girls can apply through online mode.
Students who fulfill all the mentioned criteria, can apply or submit their application form through DHE Assam's official portal. An exclusive web portal for DHE has been initiated by the authorities, which will allow the eligible girls to visit and update their application forms in the website.
There are certain documents that needs to be uploaded at the time of submitting the application. The documents include one passport sized photograph, scanned signature of the applicant, recent income certificate of parents, a xerox copy of the first page of active bank passbook of the applicant, identity card, PAN and Aadhaar card of the applicant.
The starting date of application starts from December and is valid till 14th of January 2023. The online application link will be available soon.
