JAMUGURIHAT: The All Assam MV Teachers’ Association has extended its moral support to the mass protest call on February 27 by the state body Karmachari Parishad in favour of fulfilment of 21 demands.
The press statement issued by Ranjit Borthakur and Lakhyajyoti Saikia, president and secretary of the state committee respectively, further states that the long-pending demands of the teachers’ community, including the issue of caseless health insurance, earned leave, appointment of permanent headmaster, appointment against retired vacancies, restoration of old pension scheme, regularisation of contractual posts etc. have not been fulfilled by the State Government despite several meetings and negotiations.
The State committee of the All Assam MV Teachers’ Association has appealed to all concerned to join the mass protest programme. All district committees will stage protest in front of the respective Deputy Commissioner’s office peacefully on February 27 from 5 AM onwards.
