MORIGAON: The All Tiwa Students’ Union (ATSU) has demanded the Morigaon Deputy Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the public distribution system arranged by the Food and Civil Supply department, Morigaon.
The Food and Civil Supply department, Morigaon has been distributing free rice to the needy people through various cooperative societies. The students’ body alleged anomalies in the distribution.
In a memorandum, secretary Diganta Bordoloi said that the cooperative societies under the Food and Civil Supply department were depriving the poor and the needy people by siphoning off the rice meant for free distribution.
