AMCH Principal Receives Prestigious Paramananda Manab Ratna Award In Dibrugarh

The Bharat Sevashram Sangha Dibrugarh Hindu Milan Mandir has honored Dr. Sanjeev Kakati, Principal and Chief Superintendent of AMCH, with the Paramananda Manab Ratna award.

DIBRUGARH: The Bharat Sevashram Sangha Dibrugarh Hindu Milan Mandir has honored Dr. Sanjeev Kakati, Principal and Chief Superintendent of Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH), with the Paramananda Manab Ratna award.

This award is given every year to individuals who have made valuable contributions to society through selfless service. Founded in 1917 by Srimat Swami Pranavananda Maharaj, Bharat Sevashram Sangha has a rich history of helping people, including disaster relief, free food and clothing distribution, and supporting the needy.

Dr. Kakati, a professor in AMCH’s Department of Medicine, has dedicated over ten years to healthcare and public service.

Meanwhile, in December 2024, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, during his visit to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), announced plans to build a residential colony for hospital staff. The project, estimated at Rs 300 crore, aims to improve accommodation for staff, enhancing AMCH's overall infrastructure.

During the visit, CM Sarma held a review meeting with AMCH authorities, where Principal Dr. Sanjeeb Kakati presented a detailed overview of the college’s operations.

Additionally, the Chief Minister chaired a road safety meeting at the CM’s Secretariat in Dibrugarh. The meeting, attended by senior officials, focused on road safety, with Sarma stressing the need for increased vigilance until January 15 to prevent accidents, particularly concerning drunk and rash driving.

Sarma also addressed urban flooding and waterlogging issues in Dibrugarh, discussing sustainable solutions with Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation officials to reduce the impact of flooding in the town.
