Guwahati: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DV&AC) recently laid a trap which exposed more corrupt practices in Assam. An Assistant Conservator Forest (ACF) and a Deputy Conservator of Forest (DFO) were arrested during the operations conducted by the vigilance body.
"DFO and ACF arrested at Lakhimpur while accepting INR 50k each," wrote G P Singh, the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) in a Twitter post. Although he did not name the corrupt officials in his post, Singh added that "people May pass on more such inputs for laying traps."
This development has come to light a time when the entire state is up in arms over the cash-for-jobs scam in the recruitment of Assam Police (Unarmed Branch) SIs.
