Assam: 50 years of two Iconic Bodo literary works celebrated in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Marking a significant milestone in Bodo literature, the Nativers' Institute of Bodology (NIB) organized 50 years of two iconic literary works, 'Okhrang Gonse Nangou' written by Late Bajendra Kumar Brahma and 'Hagra Guduni Mwi' written by Late Nikamal Brahma at the Brajendra Kumar Brahma Seminar Hall, CIT-Kokrajhar today.

As part of the ceremony, floral tributes were paid in honour of the two legendary writers, followed by the felicitation of their family members, recognizing their lasting contributions to Bodo literature and culture. A special session was later held to discuss and reflect on the literary value, cultural relevance, and continued impact of 'Okhrang Gonse Nangou' and 'Hagra Guduni Mwi,' which are regarded as foundational works in the canon of modern Bodo literature.

The programme witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries including Dr Surath Narzary, President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, and Sahitya Akademi awardee writers Dr Anjali Basumatary, Janil Kumar Brahma, and Prof Indira Boro, among others.
