TINSUKIA: With the view of strengthening the party in the Tinsukia district parallelly with the other districts of the states, vice president Manoj Dhanowar took part in a party meeting with other members of the party.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice president mentioned this to be a very good sign for the party and they expect to give a tough competition to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming general elections. This public meeting covered the localities of Hahchara and Borhapjan of the district. A member of the youth wing of the party, Babul Bikash Chetiya was also present and welcomed the new members to the party. A number of people from the district including the youth decided to join the party in the presence of the leaders.

Recently the party removed Kamal Medhi was recently removed from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for making disparaging remarks about Ahoms in general. The decision to dismiss Medhi was made in response to his most recent anti-Gogoi comment, which caused fury within the party and drew criticism from the general public.

Kamal Medhi, who was obviously devastated by his expulsion, posted his feelings on Facebook. However, his political aspirations may have come to an end with this expulsion. Notably, Kamal Medhi ran for the Patacharkuchi Assembly constituency in 2021 but lost the election. Although Medhi had already apologised for the "anti-Ahom remarks," the decision stated that he had violated party ethics by making later, more contentious remarks on social media. He was therefore immediately suspended as a result of this.

On the other hand, Bidyut Kalita, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was expelled from the organization on 1st June due to his suspected complicity in the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) fraud, which involved 105 crore rupees. Kalita's employment has been momentarily halted due to his alleged involvement in the fraud.
