JORHAT: Faculty members and employees of Assam Agricultural University (AAU) gheraoed the premises of the Comptroller's office which is in the administrative block of the Jorhat campus, over non-payment of salary for two consecutive months.
A large number of employees from each and every department came out during the lunch break and met the Comptroller of Assam Agricultural University and enquired about the possibility of receiving their pending salary on the first day of the month of October. They further threatened that the employees' union would stage indefinite strike unless the pending salary was released soon, said Jayanta Bhuyan, a member of the employees' union.
