NALBARI: A district-level central programme for the distribution of application forms under the Chief Minister’s Nijut Moina Scheme (CMNMS) and the Chief Minister’s Nijut Babu Scheme (CMNBS) was held at Nalbari College. Assam Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah attended the programme and virtually addressed students, teachers, and guardians from 14 colleges across Nalbari district. During the programme, it was announced that 19,638 students are expected to benefit under the Chief Minister’s Nijut Moina Scheme and 6,863 students under the Chief Minister’s Nijut Babu Scheme in Nalbari district during the 2026-27 academic session. Addressing the gathering, Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah said that the Assam Government has launched these two welfare schemes to ensure that no deserving student is deprived of higher education due to financial constraints.
