Bokakhat: A significant ceremony was held on Thursday at the auditorium of Mohuramukh Higher Secondary School under Bokakhat Subdivision, where educational awards were presented by socially conscious and education-loving individuals to students who secured the highest marks in various subjects in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination at the Mohuramukh Higher Secondary School center. The event also aimed to congratulate students who passed with distinction in both the HSLC and Higher Secondary final exams from Mohuramukh Higher Secondary School.
The meeting was presided over by retired head teacher Indreswar Baruah. The ceremony began with a group song by students of Class VII, followed by an explanation of the event’s purpose by acting principal Paragjyoti Hazarika.
Monikangkana Deka, who secured the highest marks at the examination center, was awarded the Kamaleswar Bori Memorial Academic Award, sponsored by retired head teacher Suren Bori. Monikangkana Deka set a record by receiving a total of eight educational awards. The awards included certificates of appreciation, trophies, bundles of books, traditional Assamese phulam gamochas, and cash prizes.
In the same ceremony, the school felicitated 25 students who passed the HSLC exams with distinction and one student who excelled in the Higher Secondary final exam, with certificates and books.
Speeches were delivered by retired teacher Beena Rajkumar on behalf of the donor families, and retired teacher and former student Nahiram Das. Representing the meritorious students, Monikangkana Deka and Pratishma Hazarika shared their thoughts and experiences.
