JAMUGURIHAT: An awareness programme organized by the Health Department, Biswanath on the occasion of World Malaria Day was held at Itakhola on Friday. Bipul Saikia, Deputy Inspector of the Malaria department, briefly explained the objectives, importance, and significance of World Malaria Day and stated some precautionary measures to prevent the spread of malaria. Nearly 100 blood samples were collected and testing was done using Rapid Diagnostic Kits (RDKs). A good number of mosquito nets were distributed among the local residents and mosquito nets of the villagers were disinfected by the department.
