TEZPUR: A seminar on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was organized at Bengali Hall Theatre, Tezpur, by Br. MSME-DFO, Tezpur, in collaboration with DICC, Sonitpur and Edupur Foundation as the event partner. Chief Guest Karabi Saikia Karan, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Sonitpur, graced the event. Morgan Meston, GM-DICC, Sonitpur, welcomed the participants, while Ashis Kumar Padhi, Asst Director/In-Charge, Br. MSME-DFO, Tezpur, outlined the seminar’s objectives. The key presentations included Dr Smita Chetia Talukdar, Regional Head-NE, NSDC – Role of NSDC, Achajya Sonowal, LDM-Sonitpur – Financial benefits of the scheme, Tarun Nath, Officer, CSC, Tezpur – Registration process and procedure, and Victor Khasnabish, Centre Manager, PMV Skill Training Centre, Tezpur – Skill training under the scheme. The seminar saw participation from 270 individuals, including artisans from various trades such as basket makers, barbers, carpenters, garland makers, fishing net makers, masons, potters, blacksmiths, boat makers, and tailors. Experts effectively addressed all queries raised by the participants. This initiative aims to empower traditional artisans by providing training, technology, credit, and market support, transforming their lives through the PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman scheme.
