GUWAHATI: An accident took place on Thursday night, in the neighbourhood of Ulubari in Guwahati amid a recent uptick in traffic accidents.
Initial reports state that the accident happened late at night close to the Ulubari flyover in Guwahati. Two people were struck by a two-wheeler, according to onlookers.
As per accounts, the accident left at least two people seriously injured, including pedestrians who were walking by the overpass in the bustling Ulubari neighbourhood of Guwahati. The injured were taken right away to the adjacent Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bhangagarh of Guwahati, where they are receiving the necessary medical care.
An accident involving an automobile occurred in Chandmari, Guwahati, earlier on Wednesday, deflating the spirit of Holi. The event reportedly occurred in the Chandmari neighbourhood of Guwahati's Rudranagar Housing Complex.
Observers claimed that the accident was caused by the car's driver losing control. Others added that they suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol, which led to the tragedy.
According to the information, the incident in Guwahati resulted in injuries to the car's driver and another passenger. Maruti Brezza with Guwahati registration number AS 01 DL 2412 has been recognised as the car that was involved in the incident.

The accident was caused by a speeding two-wheeler that lost control and slammed into the barrier in the middle of the Chandmari flyover in Guwahati.
According to additional reports, there were two riders on the motorcycle at the time of the collision on the Chandmari Flyover in Guwahati. They were both critically hurt in the collision.
The two injured people were transported to GMCH in critical condition. The identities of the two people who were involved in the accident on the Chandmari Flyover were not immediately known.
The incident was being investigated by local authorities, who were attempting to determine what caused the mishap in the Chandmari neighbourhood of Guwahati. The motorcycle that was involved in the collision was found by the Guwahati Traffic Police.
It was determined to be a Pulsar 220 with the registration AS 01 DV 8179.
