GUWAHATI: The Congress has been opposing the semiconductor industry in Assam since its beginning, the state BJP said.
"The Congress is concerned about the semiconductor industry. The APCC president's recent negative remarks on the semiconductor industry have been strongly condemned by Assam Pradesh BJP spokesperson Dr Juri Sharma Bardoloi.
In a statement today, the state BJP spokesperson said the Congress party is against industrialization. "While in power, the Congress never paid attention to setting up industries in Assam. Instead, the industries that existed were on the verge of closure under the Congress rule. There was no attempt to bring new industries to the state. It was unthinkable for the Congress to set up large-scale industries in Assam. Therefore, it is natural that the APCC president is concerned about the semiconductor industry," the spokesperson said.
