SRIBHUMI: In a tragic incident, a man who had gone missing after attending a friend's wedding in Sribhumi, Assam, was discovered dead in a decomposing and naked state after five days. His relatives were concerned when the deceased, identified as Salim Uddin, failed to return home after attending the wedding on February 18.
A search was launched after his family reported him missing at the Badarpur Police Station. The police received news of a body discovered near a hill in the Bagargul region on the fifth day of the search. When they arrived, they recognised the remains as belonging to Salim Uddin, which led to suspicions of foul play.
Two individuals from the same village as Salim, Jakir Hussain and Asad Uddin, were taken into custody by the police to carry out an additional investigation. As officials attempt to ascertain the reason of his death, both are currently being questioned regarding the possibility of their involvement in the crime.
Meanwhile, Padumi Bora, a 52-year-old woman from Bahbari Satra, went missing on January 25. According to her husband, Bipul Bora, she left their home in the early hours of January 25 due to some family issues and has not been seen since.
Despite efforts from her family to locate her, they have been unsuccessful. Today, they filed a missing person report at Jamuguri Police Station. Bipul Bora has appealed to anyone with information about Padumi's whereabouts to contact Jamuguri Police or call 9101275109 to help in locating her.
