BOKAKHAT: Once again, a carcass of a Royal Bengal tiger was recovered in Kaziranga National Park. The forest staff recovered the tiger on Saturday while patrolling the Kohora forest range of the national park. The carcass was found in a remote area amidst the woods near the Baghmari forest camp.

According to Arun Bignesh, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Kaziranga National Park, based on the decomposition of the body, it is estimated that the tiger died around 10 days ago. Preliminary investigations suggest the cause of death to be natural.

As per the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), the carcass was examined through a post-mortem conducted by forest department veterinarian Dr Saurav Burhagohain in the presence of DFO Arun Bignesh, forest range officer Bibhuti Ranjan Gogoi, and others. Following NTCA protocols, the tiger’s body was cremated on-site.
