Assam: Career counselling programme held at Bhergaon College in Udalguri

To spread career awareness and enhancing employability skills, the SEED, under the aegis of the Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship department, BTC, organized a counselling programme in Udalguri.

KOKRAJHAR: With a view to spread career awareness and enhancing employability skills, the Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (SEED), under the aegis of the Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship department, Bodoland Territorial Council, organized a day-long career counselling programme at the auditorium of Bhergaon College in Udalguri today.

The programme was attended by distinguished dignitaries and renowned counsellors. It was inaugurated by Daobaisa Boro, Executive Member of BTC, who mentioned the importance of career counselling for students. He appealed to the students to take part in academic programmes as well as career-related programmes to build their future in the right way.

Ranjan K Baruah, Adviser of SEED, BTC, briefed students on various career opportunities and essential attributes for success through different activities and fun-filled learning.  He mentioned the skills which are essential for getting jobs in government as well as private sectors. He focused on the importance of attitudes and life skills for getting success in life.

Romeo K Basumatary, IQAC Coordinator, hosted the programme and welcomed all the participants before the programme which was attended by Padmeswar Boro, Principal of Bhergaon College, apart from Samal Daimary, Secretary of the Governing Body. It was attended by the teaching staff of the college.

More than 300 students from various colleges, including Tangla College, Khoirabari College, Industrial Training Institute, Bhergaon, Bhergaon Junior College apart from Bhergaon College actively participated in the programme and appreciated the initiatives of Pramod Bodo, Chief Executive Member, and Wilson Hasda, Executive Member of the BTC, in promoting career development through such outreach programmes.
