Assam: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Reviews Bishmuri-Saralpara Road Project to Boost Connectivity with Bhutan

KOKRAJHAR: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday visited Digli to supervise Bishmuri-Saralpara road connecting Sarpang in Bhutan from National Highway 31. Sarma. He was accompanied by the chief of BTC Pramod Boro.

Talking to media persons, Chief Minister Sarma said the 35 km Bishmuri-Saralpara road would be constructed with the special central fund of Rs. 27 crores and would be completed within 18 months. He said the government of Assam and the BTR are committed to make the state forward in all spheres. He also said the BTR had been progressing fast since peace has returned. He further said the communication with Bhutan will return to normal as before once the road is completed.

It may be mentioned that the 35-km long Bishmuri-Saralpara road connecting Sarpang of Bhutan has been in dilapidated state since long. Due to bad road condition, the communication with Bhutan in Sarpang is snapped for long. The Bishmuri-Saralpara road is also the road to reach famous and beautiful picnic spot along Bhutan border and lifeline for the people of Ultapani and Saralpara area. The road passes through thick jungles of Chirang reserve forest of Haltugaon division.

Meanwhile, Governor Prof Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited Bathou Thanshali at Baganshali in Kokrajhar town in the morning and offered prayers.
