Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to inaugurate ‘Bodoland Speaks’ in Guwahati

KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland Territorial Council is set to host ‘Bodoland Speaks: From Vision to Action,’ a landmark programme that brings together the aspirations, achievements, and voices of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in the presence of BTR CEM Pramod Boro and other dignitaries on July 6 at the Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium, Guwahati.

At its core, the programme aims to highlight BTR’s journey from conflict to collaboration, from isolation to inclusion through culture, language, governance, and grassroots participation.

Among the most anticipated highlights is the ceremonial release of the books including ‘Transforming Bodoland- A journey of change in BTR, Looking Within: My Reflections’ authored by BTR CEM Pramod Boro, and the ‘Annual Report of the Bodoland Happiness Mission (2024–25).’ Further, ‘BTR Communication Bridge,’ a historic 600-page volume bringing together 1001 essential words and 1001 daily-use sentences translated into 18 regional languages, including Bodo, Assamese, Rabha, Kurukh, Sadhri, Nepali, Deshi, and more, reflecting the linguistic richness of BTR’s 26 communities, will also be released during the occasion.

The event will also see the launch of initiatives like the Bodoland Engaged Ethnography Initiative and the Bodoland Migrant Women Livelihood Support programme. The conferring of the Bodoland Lifetime Achievers Award – Folk Cultures, 2025 and interactions with literary organizations and community leaders will further mark the day as a celebration of knowledge, heritage, and collective future-building in the region.
