Former minister Girindra Kumar Baruah, while addressing the gathering, said that Mazumdar was deeply devoted to Sankari culture and never deviated from the philosophy and ideals of Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankardev. Baruah added that Mazumdar, who had settled in Nagaon after migrating from Hajo’s Ramdia, had captured the hearts of the people of Nagaon through his Vaishnavite culture.
