OUR CORRESPONDENT
Dongkamukam: Conscientious residents of the district are extremely concerned about the rise in theft in some village pocket regions of West Karbi Anglong. People in certain places are having restless nights taking care of their possessions. It appears that they choose another village for their activities when people observe vigils in that village at night. Because of this, the villagers thought that the group may contain some informers. When this reporter asked them about the information they had provided to the police thus far, they declined.
A number of items were stolen from the Bhellapara Catholic Church over the past few days, including a keyboard, the church's sound system, cooking utensils, and even a few mounds of paddy from a paddy store in the Bhellapara area. A few days later, half a dozen cows from Mugasong were taken, and on Tuesday, water spray motors from the Satgaon area were taken. Although there may be a lot of unreported incidents in the community, one must be on guard these days.
