Assam: Dibrugarh’s Fiza Bilkis Wins Gold at 6th National Martial Arts Competition

DIBRUGARH: Fiza Bilkis, a ninth-grade student from Siksha Valley School, has brought pride to her hometown by clinching a gold medal at the 6th National Martial Arts Competition held in Panjabari, Guwahati, on December 27 and 28.

Fiza secured her victory by defeating Nandini Doloi from West Bengal and Darshita from Assam in a fiercely contested tournament. Her outstanding performance has made her a source of inspiration and admiration for the people of Dibrugarh.

The young athlete is the daughter of Niyaz Akhtar, resident of Loharpatty in Dibrugarh, was honored by the Trust for Humanity with a traditional Fulam Gamosa as a token of appreciation. The organization also conveyed their best wishes for her future endeavors.

Fiza’s achievement highlights her dedication and talent, serving as an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the region to strive for excellence in sports.

Meanwhile, earlier last week, Mridul Ram Kalita and Deepanjan Das clinched the seventh edition of the Pulin Das Memorial Open Prize-Money Sports Quiz Competition title-2024, organised by the Guwahati Tennis Association (GTA) in Guwahati today.

While Bikram Deka and Chandan Duorah bagged the first runner-up prize, Sayan Majumdar and Gaurav Haloi won the second runner-up prize, respectively. The competition was successfully conducted by noted quiz masters Dipankar Koushik and Dilip Kumar Sharma.
