BISWANATH: A meeting on e-tendering for contractors involved in rice transportation and management under the National Food Security Act was held today at the conference room of the Biswanath District Commissioner.
The meeting, chaired by Additional District Commissioner Rakesh Deka, was organized by the Food Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department.
Key officials in attendance included Bhupen Chandra Baishya, Assistant Commissioner of Bihali, Dhruvajyoti Das, Assistant Commissioner of Gohpur, and Shailen Das, District Transport Officer, along with other staff members. The meeting focused on the implementation of the e-tender process for rice carrying and management.
Meanwhile, the District Commissioner of Biswanath, Munindra Nath Ngate, inaugurated a newly built Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) at the Biswanath Chariali District Hospital today.
After the inauguration, DC Munindra Nath Ngate visited various sections of the hospital, including the physiotherapy, maternity rooms, general wards, and pediatric and emergency wards. He interacted with patients and checked on the facilities.
The District Commissioner also visited the hospital pharmacy to inspect the expiration dates of medicines. The event was attended by Paragjyoti Saikia, along with other officers and staff.
Additionally, a meeting was held on February 13, 2025, in Biswanath to discuss the laying of the city gas pipeline with North East Gas Distribution Company LTD. Officials from various departments attended the meeting, chaired by District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey.
Meanwhile, Biswanath College of Education successfully organized a five-day hybrid international Faculty Development Programme on 'Current Trends and Approaches in Teaching-Learning' from February 5 to 10, 2025, attended by leading academics and honored participants.
