GOLAGHAT: The first phase polling for the general assembly election in Golaghat district concluded peacefully on Saturday without any untoward incident. Voters lined up at polling stations from 7 am to exercise their franchise. As per official information, about 75.13 per cent voter turnout in Golaghat LAC, 75. 21 per cent in Khumtai LAC, 70. 76 per cent in Sarupathar LAC and 71. 10 per cent turnout in Bokakhat LAC was recorded till the filing of this report.
