DIGBOI: In a significant development, the first Jagannath temple was officially inaugurated in Assam's Digboi today. The center was inaugurated today with the mass marriage of 26 couples and brides.
This center was inaugurated in the presence of Digboi MLA Suren Phukan and the president of the Assam Government's Home Construction Department Pulak Gohain.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the media today and informed about the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Assam.
Amit Shah will officially inaugurate the newly constructed administrative building of Lachit Barphukan Police Academy located in Dergaon on 15th March.
"On the eve of the Assam visit of Union Home Minister, a while ago, presented the police academy and discussed the program schedule with the District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and senior government officials and understood the preparation of the program," Piyush Hazarika stated.
"Ahead of the Hon'ble Union Home Minister's visit to Assam, I visited the Police Academy and held detailed discussions with the DC, SP and other senior officials to review the preparations for the inauguration ceremony," he further said.
