LAKHIMPUR: Assam Forest Employees' Association, Lakhimpur branch has urged State Environment and Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya to initiate steps to upgrade the forest employees who have been working in the same posts for 25 to 30 years. In this context, the organization has submitted a memorandum to the minister concerned. The memorandum, countersigned by Sub-Beat Officer Atul Baruah and Forester Grade-1 Joy Kumar Deuri, stated that the forest employees of Assam, appointed in various posts, had been working in the same posts for a long period of 25 years to 30 years without being upgraded. Many such employees have already retired.
Under such circumstances, the organization appealed to the minister to upgrade those working forest employees who have already completed 25 years in their jobs. The organization submitted the same memorandum to the Principal Conservator of Forest.
