SIVASAGAR: Gargaon College, a leading educational institution in Sivasagar district, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its second canteen on April 2. The canteen was inaugurated by Principal of Gargaon College and renowned academician and litterateur Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta.
Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta stated that the canteen, a collaborative initiative of the Gargaon College Teachers’ Association and college authorities, aims to foster a culture of healthy eating among students by providing nutritious local food as an alternative to fast food. Appreciating the initiative of Gargaon College Teachers’ Association, Dr Mahanta opined that the canteen will also pave the way for self-reliance of the local youth.
