SARUPATHAR: The conditions of Uriamghat - Naojan road speaks about the failure of the government. On social media, residents are trolling and shaming the government over the poor condition of roads in the Sarupathar area. People said, "Dhansiri's beauty is incredible. Even on the roads, we have small ponds, all over." However, the number of potholes on the roads has increased in the Sarupathar area, making travel tedious. People in the region are angry as the roads are not being repaired. In some places, the potholes are so big that the drivers have to manoeuvre around.

Meanwhile, the residents say it is unsafe to drive on such roads, which are full of potholes. Locals say the bad condition of the roads is damaging their vehicles. "Despite manifold problems being faced by us, there has been no action by the PWD authorities to repair and improve the road condition," the residents lamented. The people of that area also said, the administration only makes cosmetic changes and each department blames the other. No one is held responsible for the mess."

Later, the MLA Biswajit Phukan of 94-Sarupathar LAC said, the dilapidated conditions of Uriamghat – Naojan road have been widely circulated on social media for the past two days. The unpaved road of Uriamghat – Naojan road was constructed under the Prime Minister's rural road scheme at that time and the road has become impassable due to the frequent movement of overloaded dumpers. The MLA has restricted the movement of the overloaded vehicles from May 4.
