Assam Gramin Vikash Bank organizes mega credit camp in Nalbari

Assam Gramin Vikash Bank organised a mega credit camp for SHGs, in co-ordination with NABARD and ASRLM, at Nalbari recently.

GUWAHATI: Assam Gramin Vikash Bank organised a mega credit camp for SHGs, in co-ordination with NABARD and ASRLM, at Nalbari recently. In this mega event, loan amount of Rs. 11.60 crore was provided to 504 numbers of SHGs from Nalbari and Baksa districts. The event was inaugurated by Purabi Konwar (DC Nalbari), in presence of Upendra Sabar (Chairman, AGVB), S.S Saha (CGM NABARD, Guwahati RO) and Dipankar Baruah (State Project Manager, ASRLM) along with other dignitaries from different organisation.

Speaking on the occasion, AGVB chairman emphasised on the role of SHGs and particularly women in uplifting the rural economy. He highlighted the role of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank in providing loans to the most down trodden section of the society and its role in providing service to the most unbanked areas of the State. Further he mentioned repaying loans on time is very important, as it helps bank to pass the benefit to other customers of the bank. SS Saha (CGM, NABARD) also addressed the gathering and enlightened them about various schemes of NABARD for development of rural India, stated a press release.
