RANGAPARA: The peaceful environment of the Rangapara colony tea estate in Assam was abruptly disrupted late Thursday night when residents were awakened by the sound of gunfire. The attack, which happened just outside the Joy Guru Temple, has sent the residents of the local community into shock and mourning.
The victim, David Changa, a young man from the Hospital Line area of the tea estate, was shot dead at about 12:30 a.m. Reports say an unidentified attacker fired several rounds at Changa before escaping.
A nearby resident described the harrowing experience, stating that the night was pierced by the unsettling sounds of gunfire. In response to emergency calls, the Rangapara Police quickly arrived at the location. During their preliminary investigation, law enforcement officials recovered an empty cartridge believed to be linked to the weapon used in the shooting.
In light of this tragic event, authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the murder of David Changa. His body has been brought in for a post-mortem as part of the ongoing investigation. The police are actively pursuing various angles, including the probable motives of the crime and finding out whoever could be involved in this inhuman act.
The community is left grappling with the aftermath of this incident, as law enforcement works diligently to bring those responsible to justice.
