BOKAKHAT: Bedana Chariali is the four-way junction in Bhakat Chapari of Rajabari Gaon Panchayat, within the Bokakhat Assembly constituency. In 1987, a Mising family, leaving behind their riverside life, settled here in Bhakat Chapari by building a home. Among the village’s four divisions, this junction is the only spot that still echoes memories of riverside living, and hence the name ‘Bedana Chariali’ (literally, ‘junction of pangs’). This year, all twelve students from Bhakat Chapari who sat for the higher secondary examinations have passed with merit. Significantly, the Congress party arranged an immediate felicitation ceremony for these young achievers.
