MANGALDAI: In a stirring display of unwavering patriotism and resolute solidarity, the people of Darrang district came together on Sunday afternoon to honour the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy, while saluting the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government for their resolute and heroic actions in delivering a befitting response to Pakistan-backed terrorists. With hearts brimming with gratitude and national pride, a diverse cross-section of citizens, transcending barriers of religion, language, and creed, united in a vibrant Tiranga Yatra at the district headquarters in Mangaldai, transforming the town into a sea of saffron, white, and green. Organized by the Darrang Zila Sachetan Nagarik Moncha, the massive procession resonated with the thunderous chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai!’ ‘Indian Army Zindabad!’ ‘Pakistan Murdabad!’ and ‘Down with Anti-India Terrorists!’ as participants proudly waved the tricolour, symbolizing India’s unity and strength.

The Yatra witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with spirited women activists, dynamic youth, and zealous students joining hands in this spontaneous outpouring of love for the nation and its brave defenders. Their fervour lit up the streets, sending a powerful message of defiance against the enemies of peace and progress.

Earlier, the Yatra was inaugurated with great zeal by State BJP President and Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia at Bhebarghat Public Field. The procession wound its way through the main arteries of Mangaldai town, painting the streets with patriotic fervour. Notable leaders, including Sipajhar legislator Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi, District BJP President Makunda Deka, civic body chairpersons Nirmali Devi Sarma of Mangaldai and Krishna Saha of Kharupetia, BJP District Vice-President Pratap Bordoloi, and all elected members of the Panchayati Raj, marched shoulder to shoulder with the masses, amplifying the rally’s patriotic resonance. Adding a touch of valour to the event, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Col (Retd) PN Giri, Navy veteran Dilip Kumar Deka, and prominent industrialist Mukul Chandra Deka addressed the gathering with their words igniting the crowd with pride for India’s Armed Forces and admiration for the Modi-led government’s unwavering commitment to national security. Their speeches echoed the collective resolve of Darrang’s citizens to stand firmly behind the brave soldiers safeguarding India’s sovereignty and to support the nation’s leadership in its relentless fight against terrorism. This Tiranga Yatra was more than a procession. It was a powerful testament to the unyielding spirit of India, a heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of our armed forces, and a resounding pledge to uphold the unity and integrity of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
