RANGIA: A grand Mega Weapon and Dog Squad Display Programme was held at the premises of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Hahara near Rangia on Saturday. The event was conducted under the leadership of Jasbir Singh, Second in Command Officer, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students and teachers from Delhi Public School, Kamrup, and Fatima Convent School, Rangia.
The programme was formally inaugurated by H.K. Gupta, Commanding Officer of the 24th Battalion, SSB. In his inaugural speech, Gupta highlighted the main objective of the event, to build a strong connection between students and the Central Armed Forces. He emphasized that such initiatives are aimed at informing young minds about the functioning, responsibilities, and role of the forces in maintaining national security. Additionally, he stressed the importance of instilling a sense of patriotism and discipline among students through such interactive experiences.
Gupta also elaborated on the wide-ranging developmental activities undertaken by the 24th Battalion in the border areas. These include human medical camps, infrastructure development projects, vocational training programmes, and social awareness campaigns. He assured the gathering that the SSB not only safeguards the borders but also works tirelessly for the overall development of the communities in their operational areas. Following his address, Gupta engaged directly with the students, encouraging them to consider careers in the Sashastra Seema Bal and other Central Police Forces.
