Guwahati: Both Assam and Meghalaya governments are aiming to settle border dispute by December 30 at six places.
The same was announced on Tuesday during a press conference, where -- Chief Ministers of two states -- Conrad Sangama and Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the border committees will submit its reports by November 30.
The border committees have formed to resolve the Assam-Meghalaya border dispute.
Sarma took to the micro-blogging site twitter and shared pictures captioning them as 'confidence-building measures between Assam and Meghalaya'.
"As part of a confidence-building measure and to find a lasting solution to the decade-old inter-state border issue between Assam & Meghalaya, I & HCM Meghalaya Sri @SangmaConrad visited Lower Lumpi in Kamrup and attended a program there," he tweeted.
Notably, in a bid to solve the border dispute at six of the 12 sites in Kamrup, Kamrup Metropolitan and Hailakandi districts, both the states have appointed three committees.
