Assam: Minister Ajay Tamta Visits Tamulpur to Review Development Projects

Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, visited Tamulpur to assess key development projects and government schemes, focusing on infrastructure and future growth.

TAMULPUR: Ajay Tamta, the Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, visited Assam's Tamulpur yesterday to evaluate key institutions and development projects in the area.

During his visit, the minister toured several important sites, including PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ayushman Arogya Mandir, the Kumarikata water supply project, and houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) [PMAY-G].

In addition to site inspections, Ajay Tamta held discussions with Heads of Departments (HoDs) to review ongoing initiatives and strategize future development plans for Tamulpur. The visit aimed at ensuring effective implementation of government schemes and enhancing infrastructure in the region.

Meanwhile, a crime review meeting had been held the previous day at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Cachar. The meeting had been attended by several key officials, including DIGP (SB) Ratna Singha, IPS, DIGP (SR) Kangkan Jyoti Saikia, IPS, SP Cachar, and Addl. District & Sessions Judge (Special POCSO), Cachar.

Also present had been the ADC, Joint Director Health, Supdt. of Silchar Medical College & Hospital, Addl. PP Silchar Court, DTO Cachar, and all GOs of Cachar DEF, along with all OCs and ICs of Cachar DEF.

The meeting discussed important issues about crime and law enforcement in the region. Officials talked about how to make security better and solve problems related to stopping crime and ensuring justice.
