Assam Minister Ashok Singhal Highlights Growth and Investment at Advantage Assam 2.0 Kolkata Roadshow

Minister Ashok Singhal showcased Assam’s progress in infrastructure, green energy, and investment opportunities at a roadshow in Kolkata, ahead of the Advantage Assam summit on January 28.

KOLKATA: Assam Minister Ashok Singhal addressed a roadshow in Kolkata, drawing attention to Assam's growth, infrastructure advancements, and investment opportunities. The event, part of the lead-up to the upcoming Advantage Assam summit, focused on the state's progress in green energy and its potential for future development.

Meanwhile, earlier last week, the Government of Assam, in collaboration with FICCI as the industry partner, had organized the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ roadshow in Hyderabad on January 23, 2025, at Hotel Taj Krishna.

This event had been part of preparations for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025, which was scheduled for February 25-26 in Guwahati.

The summit aimed to make Assam a top place for investment and a gateway to Southeast Asia, showing off the state's growing infrastructure, plenty of natural resources, and policies that are good for investors.

During the roadshow, Ranoj Pegu, Assam’s Minister for Education and Tribal Affairs, talked about how the state’s economy has changed and the plans to attract investments in different areas. He had also emphasized Assam's commitment to creating a conducive environment for investors.

Senior Assam government officials spoke to the audience about important sectors for investment. Dr. B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, the Additional Chief Secretary, talked about investment chances in Assam’s tourism sector. K. S. Gopinath Narayan, the Principal Secretary of IT, discussed opportunities in AI and VR technology.
