Assam: Miscreant Opened Fire in Bilasipara, Injuring Three Individuals

A gunfire attack at a State Bank of India (SBI) Grahak Seva Kendra in Assam's Bilasipara on Tuesday injured three individuals.

DHUBRI: A gunfire attack at a State Bank of India (SBI) Grahak Seva Kendra in Assam's Bilasipara on Tuesday injured three individuals. Three unidentified assailants reportedly carried out the incident. The attackers opened fire, injuring three bank associates.

The victims were identified as Wahidur Rahman, Ratan Barman, and Abdul Gafur. The gunmen managed to flee before police and other locals after shooting them.

The injured individuals were immediately rushed to the Raniganj Primary Health Center for initial treatment. The intensity of their injuries led to their transfer to Bongaigaon for advanced care after their medical assessment.

Authorities immediately arrived at the scene, with senior police officials leading an investigation into the attack. The police confirmed that they have initiated an investigation into the attack and its motive.

Law enforcement agencies are concentrating on apprehending the perpetrators, even though it is too early to speculate on the reasons for the targeted attack.

It has, however, been suspected that the motive might be robbery, as the CSP usually deals in monetary transactions worth lakhs per day.

Meanwhile, tension surged in Bilasipara West, Dhubri district, Assam, as unidentified individuals reportedly fired at a passenger bus earlier in March.

The incident occurred between Panbari and Suparighat on National Highway 17, where the unknown individuals allegedly fired two live bullets at the bus. The bullets reportedly penetrated the window, injuring one passenger.
