Dibrugarh: Assam Mobile Tower Caretaker Sanmilit Union, in association with South Kamrup and Boko Committee, organized a caretaker awareness meet recently. The meeting was marked with discussions over the telecom companies offering the minimum of wages to the caretakers in exchange for their services. The members of the organization alleged that the telecom companies like Vodafone and Idea were flouting the labour laws of the country and depriving the caretakers of their rightful dues, thereby affecting the latter’s families too. They, in the meeting, demanded job security, appointment letters and legally available facilities under the labour laws.
