Assam Mountaineering Association Awards Certificates in Dispur

Assam Mountaineering Association distributed certificates to participants at PWD Convention and Training Center in Dispur.

DHUBRI: Certificates were distributed by Assam Mountaineering Association among the participants at PWD Convention and Training Center located in Dispur on Sunday. Certificates were distributed among those who had taken part in various adventure sports expeditions and training programmes organized by the association last year

These included “Triple Peak Expedition” and Kyagar La Trekking Expedition to three virgin peaks in Ladakh, a trek by three members to the Everest Base Camp, the summer camp held at Panchratna Eco Camp in Goalpara, the 56th Annual Basic Rock Climbing Training Course, and the 34th Children Adventure Orientation Camp.

The event was presided over by president of the association by Dr. Devendra Nath Mahanta. The event also featured chief convener Satyen Sharma, who gave a detailed account of the association’s history and achievements.

General secretary, Manash Barooah, proudly announced the successful naming process of previously unnamed peaks in Ladakh Himalaya in the honour of Ahom General Lachit Borphukan.
