DIPHU: The District Legal Services Authority, Karbi Anglong, will be organising the National Lok Adalat on 14 June 2025 from 10:00 AM onwards at the District Judiciary Campus, Diphu, and the SDJM Court Campus, Bokajan, respectively, an official informed.
Additionally, it was also stated that the Lok Adalat will address various categories of compoundable pending court cases, including civil matters, matrimonial disputes, and pre-litigation issues involving banks, APDCL, BSNL, and others. This initiative is aimed at providing a platform for amicable settlement and reducing the burden of litigation.
All litigants and parties who have received summons or notices related to these cases are requested to attend the Lok Adalat and utilise this opportunity to resolve their matters through mutual consent.
Earlier, the National Lok Adalat was held at the Dhubri District Judicial Court premises, which was organised by the Dhubri District Legal Services Authority in March. In Lok Adalat, 1402 cases were disposed of, including bank loans, electricity bills, etc., and a total of Rs 1,98,39,003 was recovered.
In addition to this, 711 cases related to motor accidents, civil, and criminal matters were disposed of, recovering a total amount of Rs 2,30,80,900. This was informed by Syeda Farida Afzal Jinnat, Secretary of the Dhubri District Legal Services Authority.
