KOKRAJHAR: A new Bodo album “Jangkrithaini Methai” produced by Ansumoi Lahary productions was released through a programme on Thursday evening. The new album was released by the Principal of Geetashree Music College of Kolkata Jagadish Chakraborty.

The new audio CD has two songs with video album which includes- “Jangkrithaini Methai” (video album) and “Boro Rao Thunlaini Methai” (video album). Singer Ansumoi Lahary, an Executive Engineer of Parakka Dam has sung both the audio songs and he gave the tune and prepared the lyrics. Music was given by Amar Boro of Tangla.

Ansumoi Lahary, a singer and lyricist, told reporters that he began singing in his early years with the goal of becoming a renowned vocalist. He claimed that while he was compelled to attend the Polytechnic Engineering Institute in Chandmari in Guwahati, where he received a diploma in civil engineering, his desire of becoming a musician was almost unattainable. After applying for interviews, he was fortunate to be hired at Parakka Dam in West Bengal, despite his lack of direction when he was unemployed for a while. He added that his dream of becoming a singer was dashed.

After being promoted to the position of Executive Engineer at Parakka Dam, Lahary continued to pursue his passion in singing. As a result, he met with Jagadish Chakraborty, Principal of Geetashree Music College in Kolkata, and asked for advice on how to balance learning to sing with his demanding work schedule. At the age of 36, he began studying classical music at Chakraborty's house after receiving advice from him. He currently holds a B. Music degree from Geetashree Music College and is pursuing a Master's degree in music.

Lahary, who is now 50 years old, asserted that if someone has clear goals in mind, nothing can stop them. Additionally, he stated that he had returned to his urge to sing and that he was now prepared to leave his engineering position but not his singing career.
