Assam: NRL Achieves 3 MMTPA Crude Processing Milestone Again

To further enhance its processing capabilities, NRL is focusing on reliability-centered maintenance and risk-based inspection (asset integrity) strategies.

GUWAHATI: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), Assam’s leading refinery, has once again surpassed the milestone of processing over 3 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA) of crude oil. This marks the second time in three years that the refinery has achieved this significant feat.

To further enhance its processing capabilities, NRL is focusing on reliability-centered maintenance and risk-based inspection (asset integrity) strategies. These measures aim to improve efficiency, optimize operations, and ensure long-term sustainability in crude oil refining.

Informing about this, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on social media, “Happy to share that @NRL_MoPNG has been able to process 3 MMTPA of crude oil for the 2nd time in 3 years, contributing significantly to India’s energy security. The refinery is now aiming to achieve 110% capacity—a fine example of improved business ecosystem & ease of doing business in Assam.”

Meanwhile, under the direct initiative of the Social Development Department of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), an ambitious scheme along with fisheries was launched on Friday in Sankar Beel of Morangi Saror Gaon.

In this regard, a meeting was held in the presence of the Chief General Manager of the Social Development and Human Resources Department of NRL, Dr. Kajal Saikia; General Manager Mintu Handique; Senior Manager Paresh Baishya; Deputy General Manager Bishwa Mohan Bora; District Fisheries Officer; Morangi Revenue Circle Officer; and local dignitaries.
