Assam: One dies of Japanese Encephalitis at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital

Anup Saikia, a school teacher and a resident of Kachari Gaon, Sootea died of Japanese Encephalitis at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Sunday at around 1.30 PM. He was 57.

JAMUGURIHAT: Anup Saikia, a school teacher and a resident of Kachari Gaon, Sootea died of Japanese Encephalitis at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Sunday at around 1.30 PM. He was 57.

According to information, Saikia was admitted to a private hospital at Guwahati on July 15 and JE was detected in his body. He underwent medical treatment for a long time. The family members later shifted him to GMCH. But Saikia breathed his last this afternoon. His untimely demise was widely mourned here. He leaves behind his wife, son and daughter along with a host of relatives.
