Goalpara: Following the agreement penned down between the Goalpara district administration and the North East Transmission Company (NETC) limited back in this year’s June month, the company on Friday installed the Ophthalmic Operating Microscope (OOM) inside the 200-bedded Bhalukdubi Civil Hospital, Goalpara.
The service of the new machinery was inaugurated in an auspicious function by Khanindra Choudhury, District Commissioner in presence of Jyotirmoy Barman, assistant manager of NETC and other medical and line department officers.
The new machine which has been seen as the boon for the patients of several Assam and Meghalaya districts is donated by the NETC company under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund for the year 2024-25. On the same day, a newly-built central laboratory building inside the hospital premise was inaugurated by Khanindra Choudhury where several laboratories from different blocks has been shifted.
Anupam Das, assistant commissioner, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Das, joint director of health services, Dr. Jonbir Das, SDM&HO and Dr. Chittaranjan Hazarika, Superintendant of the hospital attended and extended their cooperation in both the events.
