Assam Pollution Control Board Chairman encourages girls to preserve environment

KOKRAJHAR: Dr Arup Kumar Misra, Chairman of the Pollution Control Board, Assam, visited the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) venue at NTPC-Bongaigaon in Kokrajhar district on Thursday and interacted with the young participants of the programme and called upon them to be part of protection of environment.

Dr Misra was accompanied by Anurag Gupta, GM (O&M), Sheeja Ambika Sasidharan, AGM (EMG), and officials from the Human Resource and EMG department. During his visit, Dr Misra spoke to the girls in an engaging and simple manner, emphasizing the importance of environmental preservation, women’s empowerment, and having a strong sense of purpose in life.

Citing examples of inspiring women role models, he encouraged the girls to believe in their potential and dream big. As a thoughtful gesture, Dr Misra also presented a small educational kit to the students, adding a personal touch to the interaction. Dr Misra appreciated NTPC-Bongaigaon’s efforts in bringing about meaningful change in the lives of young girls through this impactful initiative.
