GUWAHATI: On February 28, a minor altercation between the staff members of Raha toll gate and a few passenger, resulted in at least three of them being physically hurt.
According to accounts, the toll gate staff stopped the three people as they crossed the Raha Toll Gate and demanded payment for the toll gate price.
The three people then demanded a copy of their payment receipt, which sparked a fight between them. The three said that when they asked for the pay receipt, the toll gate staff beat them up.
The three injured people were transferred to the Nagaon Civil Hospital and were later identified as Maulana Farooq Ahmed, Mustafa Ahmed, and Raihan Ahmed, all of Hojai.
DGP Assam Police, GP Singh, on the other hand, was made aware of the assault and instructed Nagaon Police to pursue legal action against the culprits.
In response to the assault at the Raha toll gate, GP Singh tweeted, "SP @nagaonpolice has been instructed to take lawful action. @assampolice."
On 6th February, Monday, after a car had been stopped because of a payment-related issue, a fight broke out at a toll plaza in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The event happened at the National Highway (NH) 91 toll plaza in Loharli at about 11:30 a.m. The violent altercation was caught on camera.
The video showed a group of individuals beating toll booth employees with a stick before crashing through the fence and fleeing the area.
The video started with a group of individuals arguing with the toll booth attendant over something having to do with payments.
A short while later, one of the individuals was observed using a stick to strike a worker and security guard at the toll booth.
Mukesh Kumar, the manager of the Loharli toll plaza, told media that the guys began acting badly when the worker requested them to pay the toll.
They then beat Rajnikanth, a worker at the toll booth, and Shyamveer, the security supervisor, with sticks. According to Mr. Kumar, the individuals left the area before the police could reach them.
