KARBI ANLONG: A railway contractor has been kidnapped and murdered in a shocking incident in Assam's Karbi Anglong district.

The incident was reported from Borlangpher in Karbi Anglong. The deceased railway contractor has been identified as Ratan Dutta.

According to reports, Dutta was abducted from Borlangpher on the night of December 19. After an extensive police search, his body was discovered today in the remote Daldali forest area.

Initially, the police suspected that surrendered militants from the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) were involved in the abduction and murder. Following this, an investigation was launched, and after interrogation, the police arrested six individuals, including a surrendered DNLA militant named Sanasing.
