DIBRUGARH: Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Rajen Gohain has issued a stern warning, stating that if the national organizational leadership fails to acknowledge and prioritize senior BJP leaders and workers, the party could face severe consequences. Gohain said  the BJP in Assam is on the brink of internal disarray and collapse.

During a closed-door meeting in Milan Nagar, Dibrugarh, Gohain met with senior BJP workers to address their growing dissatisfaction. He expressed concern over the current state leadership’s approach and called for immediate organizational reforms.

Gohain stated  the importance of giving due recognition and respect to senior BJP workers, warning that the lack of action could lead many to defect to rival political parties, particularly the Congress.

Speaking about his statewide discussions with BJP workers, Gohain said, “Many senior workers feel alienated. They have shared their grievances with me and are seriously considering joining other parties, especially the Congress. I am trying to counsel them against making hasty decisions, but their sense of injustice is deeply rooted and cannot be ignored.”

Gohain further remarked, “If the Congress regains power in Assam, it will be a significant loss for the state and its people. I remain hopeful that the central organizational leadership will take the necessary corrective measures to address these issues promptly.”

This meeting in Dibrugarh was said to be part of Gohain’s broader effort to understand and address the discontent among party workers.

It also highlighted the pressing need for unity within the party to ensure its continued strength and relevance in Assam’s political landscape.
